The Challenge
The primary challenge was the tight timeline. The project involved multiple stages—UX strategy, UI design, and website development—requiring a carefully structured process to ensure efficiency and quality. A clear timeline was proposed to keep both SMG and Creative Drey aligned and committed to achieving the best possible outcome within the short delivery period.
UX Strategy
To build a seamless user experience, Creative Drey defined a clear information architecture that organised content into logical categories. The navigation structure was designed to cover all essential content, ensuring intuitive and user-friendly access across the site.
Wireframes
Using the client’s brief and supporting research, we developed wireframes that:
Visualised the structure, content layout, and functionality without visual distractions.
Designed both the homepage and inner pages based on the provided site map.
Established a strong hierarchy and flow for effective content organisation.
An interactive prototype was created to test navigation and interactions. Additional sections, components, and features were proposed to enhance the user experience, including a waitlist feature designed to gather marketing insights and identify potential customers.
UI Strategy
A mood board was developed to define the desired aesthetic and tone, combining typography, shapes, and design elements that reflected SMG’s brand personality: approachable, professional, and tech-forward. This direction aligned with the brand palette while positioning the company as both friendly and future-focused.
UI Design
Building on the mood board, a stylescape was produced to explore the full visual system. Typography, colours, shapes, buttons, and image treatments were brought together to demonstrate their interaction across website components. The resulting style embodied SMG’s approachable yet innovative character, creating a cohesive visual identity that translated seamlessly to the digital platform.
Through a collaborative and structured approach, Creative Drey delivered a Squarespace website that successfully positioned the Sustainability Marketing Group as a forward-thinking, approachable, and professional brand. Despite the limited timeframe, the final product balanced strategic UX, thoughtful UI design, and brand-led aesthetics to create a platform that attracts leads, communicates SMG’s mission, and supports long-term growth.
